Custom peptide synthesis
Zenbiochem synthesises custom peptides to research and commercial quality — applying solid-phase (Fmoc-SPPS and Boc-SPPS) and solution-phase approaches depending on sequence requirements. We specialise in difficult sequences, cyclic peptides, and peptides with non-standard modifications that present challenges for conventional synthesis providers. Every peptide is delivered with full mass spectrometry confirmation and HPLC purity data.
Standard linear peptides
2–50 residue linear sequences using Fmoc-SPPS with automated or manual synthesis protocols. Routine purity ≥95% by RP-HPLC. All 20 natural amino acids plus common unnatural residues available.
Cyclic peptides
Head-to-tail cyclisation, sidechain-to-backbone, disulfide-bridged, and lactam-bridged cyclic peptides. Cyclisation on-resin or in solution — strategy selected to optimise yield and purity.
Difficult sequences
Aggregation-prone, hydrophobic, and high-β-sheet sequences tackled using pseudoproline dipeptides, backbone protection, low-loading resins, and microwave-assisted coupling where required.
Stapled & constrained peptides
Hydrocarbon stapling by ring-closing metathesis, thioether and lactam-stapled helices, bicyclic and macrocyclic peptide architectures for improved protease resistance and cell penetration.
PEGylated & conjugated peptides
N-terminal, C-terminal, and sidechain PEGylation. Fluorophore conjugation (FAM, FITC, TAMRA, Cy dyes). Biotin, azide, and alkyne handles for click chemistry and affinity capture.
Isotope-labelled peptides
¹³C, ¹⁵N, and ²H isotopically labelled peptides for NMR studies, metabolic flux analysis, and quantitative mass spectrometry (AQUA peptides, heavy-isotope internal standards).
Synthesis platforms
Fmoc-SPPS (standard and microwave-assisted), Boc-SPPS for difficult sequences, solution-phase for large-scale or fragment condensation.
Purity grades
Crude (≥70%), Research (≥85%), High-purity (≥95%), Analytical (≥98%). Preparative RP-HPLC purification as standard above research grade.
Analytical characterisation
ESI-MS or MALDI-TOF mass confirmation, RP-HPLC purity (UV 214 nm and 254 nm), amino acid analysis on request. Full CoA supplied.

0.025 mmol (research vial) through to multi-gram synthesis. Pilot-scale batches for pre-clinical supply available on request.
Delivery format
Lyophilised powder as standard. TFA salt or acetate salt forms available. Dissolved in appropriate solvent with sterile filtration on request.
