eDNAsafe™ CAS: 1030826-36-8 —Eco-Friendly Nucleic Acid Stain
eDNAsafe™️ is a high-sensitivity fluorescent nucleic acid stain for agarose gel electrophoresis — developed as a safer, non-mutagenic alternative to Ethidium Bromide (EtBr).
Engineered for modern molecular biology workflows, eDNAsafe™️ delivers sharp DNA band resolution and superior sensitivity under both UV and blue-light transilluminators, ensuring reliable gel imaging without compromising lab safety.
Synthesised through an environmentally responsible, low-impact manufacturing process, it eliminates the mutagenic risks and hazardous waste disposal requirements associated with EtBr.
Ideal for researchers seeking a safe DNA stain, EtBr replacement, or eco-friendly nucleic acid stain, eDNAsafe™️ combines performance, safety, and sustainability in one solution.
High sensitivity & clarity
Bright, sharp DNA and RNA bands at concentrations as low as 1–2 ng per band — equivalent to EtBr. Suitable for routine and high-precision gel imaging including Southern blotting and fragment sizing.
Dual-light compatibility
Visualise under UV transilluminators (302 nm) or blue-light LED systems (470 nm). Blue-light imaging reduces DNA photodamage — preserving samples for downstream cloning, sequencing, and restriction digestion.
Simple gel preparation
Ready-to-use solution for direct addition to molten agarose (pre-stain) or post-run gel staining. Compatible with TAE and TBE buffers. No protocol changes — a true drop-in EtBr replacement.
Safe for teaching environments
Ames test negative. Negligible mutagenic potential. Ideal for undergraduate and school teaching labs without specialist waste management contracts.
Eco-friendly synthesis
Manufactured using a low-impact, green-chemistry route that minimises organic solvent waste, eliminates heavy metal catalysts, and reduces energy consumption vs conventional synthesis.
Full imaging system compatibility
Compatible with all major gel documentation systems including Bio-Rad ChemiDoc, Uvitec, Syngene, and GelDoc platforms. Signal stable for 24 hours post-staining at 4°C.
